Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921) was a Galician author and scholar, best known for her novels including The House of Ulloa and also her journalism and criticism. Walter Borenstein is Professor Emeritus of Spanish in the Department of Foreign Languages at the State University College at New Paltz, NY.
