About Dean Tjosvold
DEANTJOSVOLD, PhD, is a professor in the Department of BusinessAdministration at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BritishColumbia. Dr. Tjosvold holds a doctorate in the social psychologyof organizations from the University of Minnesota. In addition tobeing a partner in several successful health care businesses, he isa management consultant specializing in team organization, conflictmanagement, and related issues. He has written more than a hundredprofessional articles on conflict management, cooperation andcompetition, decision making, power, and other management issues,and is the coauthor of twelve books for managers, including TeamOrganization: An Enduring Competitive Advantage (Wiley), Teamworkfor Customers: Building an Organization That Takes Pride inServing, and Learning to Manage Conflict: Getting People to WorkTogether Productively. MARY M. TJOSVOLD, PhD, is founder and CEO of several successfulhealth services businesses.
