Daniel Fletcher is a native Texan who lived and trained in Japan from 2001-2008. He studied Budo (combat), Shurikenjutsu (throwing weapons), Kyudo (samurai archery), Satsuma Biwa (the samurai lute) and Horimono (traditional Japanese tattooing).

Fletcher San has provided good photographic illustrations and a systematic treatment that makes Japanese Throwing Weapons a fine reference work. The photographic treatment of the hardware is excellent, and the angular views of throws are cleanly illustrative; it should permit a reader to self-teach the techniques presented.
