This week saw the visit to Kenny's of Máirtín Ó Muilleoir MLA, a Sinn Féin politician, author, publisher and businessman, who served as the 58th Lord Mayor of Belfast. An avid blogger Máirtín went away and very kindly waxed lyrical about his experience here in a piece he entitled "Kenny’s Bookstore in Galway go toe to toe with Amazon". #GRMA a Mháirtín - thank you for the kind words, it was lovely to see yourself and Helen in Galway.

Conor Pope of The Irish Times looked at the phenomenon of Cyber Monday on the 28th of November - and we were very happy to see Kennys.ie put in a very  favourable light:

kennys.ie: Kenny’s Bookshop in Galway was one of the first retailers in Ireland to embrace the online marketplace and it has a digital footprint that goes all the way back to the mid-1990s. It is still a wonderful website and pleasingly far from all the maddening, garishly designed tech- obsessed websites in the world. The collection is immense and they deliver for free.

Official opening of an exhibition of 75 objects.

Storm Desmond - an apt name if ever there was one - did little to dampen the spirits as Kennys Bookshop & Art Gallery celebrated 75 years in business this week.

In spite of the weather, a crowd of family, staff, friends and clients toasted the next 75 years at the official opening of our 75|75 exhibition - this engaging and diverse exhibition, curated by Dean Kelly, celebrates the fascinating history of this family-owned Galway business over the last 75 years.

The exhibition continues through the New Year 2016.
