A chance visit to the United States Marine Corps museum with his father in the ninth grade helped develop his interest about the ongoing civil war in the Philippines. Aaron has travelled extensively in the Philippines during and after college and has been working on this project on and off for over a decade. Aaron has published two magazine articles on the Philippine Air Force's history and contribution to the civil war.
