Reviews for History of Germany, 1815-1990
'This book remains the best single-volume history of modern Germany.' Teaching History 'That the book has now entered its fourth edition is a great compliment to a historian whose work has not lost its relevance. It takes special skills to write a general history and Carr managed to avoid the dangers of such a project. He continuously focuses on the essential points and always aims at a balanced interpretation. These qualities make it an excellent textbook not only for undergraduate.'
