About Illysa R. Foster
Illysa Foster is a practicing homebirth midwife and owner of Sisters Midwifery, Inc. She holds a master's degree in Human Development and Education (University of Texas) and is certified by the North American Registry of Midwives. Prior to becoming a midwife, Illysa served as adjunct faculty at Austin Community College. She has worked to develop curricula for the Association of Texas Midwives and is now a peer evaluator for the Midwifery Education and Accreditation Council. Illysa is a midwife preceptor and enjoys training new midwives. Jon Lasser is an associate professor in the School Psychology Program at Texas State University. He holds a master's degree in Human Sexuality Education (University of Pennsylvania) and a doctorate in School Psychology (University of Texas). Dr. Lasser teaches graduate courses in ethics, counseling, and assessment and provides ethics training for professionals. His research interests include applied professional ethics, parenting, and sexual orientation identity.
