About Bill Niven
Born and raised in East Kilbride and is a chartered accountant by profession. He served as an army officer in Singapore during national service and was much involved in the development of the East Kilbride new town. Bill was appointed provost (mayor) from 1969 to 1972. He is the President of the Scottish Covenanter Memorials Association and President of Eaglesham Feuars Association & Eaglesham History Society.
