GOODCHILD is Chair of the Executive Committee of the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA), and Professor of Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara. DAVID J. MAGUIRE is Director of Products and International at Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) in California. DAVID W. RHIND is Vice Chancellor of City University, London, and former director general and chief executive of the Ordnance Survey of Great Britain.
