Sharer (1940-2012) was Shoemaker Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, and Curator Emeritus of the American Section at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Philadelphia. Loa P. Traxler is Director of Museum Studies and Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico.
