Chris Makepeace has lived in the Manchester area for about forty-five years and has a particular interest in the city's history from the mid-eighteenth century onwards. He started work as a librarian with the Manchester Local History Library and has latterly tutored in local history. Chris is a prolific author - and this is his ninth book for SPL.
