He served as Medical Director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune, India for three years. He also held the position of professor of clinical medicine for 12 years. Dr. Lad's academic and practical training includes the study of allopathy (Western medicine) and surgery. He is the founder and director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
