D. J. Ward is a high school science teacher who also writes science books for children. His titles include Exploring Mars, Materials Science, and another book in the Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science series, What Happens to Our Trash? He lives in Castle Rock, Colorado. Mike Lowery has illustrated numerous children's books, including the Ken Jennings' Junior Genius Guides series and What Can a Crane Pick Up? by Rebecca Kai Dotlich. A professor of illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, he lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
