Glenn Patterson was born, and lives, in Belfast. He is the author of Burning Your Own (1988), Fat Lad (1992) and Black Night at Big Thunder Mountain (1995) and The International (1999). A graduate of the UEA writing programme, he worked for a time as a bookseller in Manchester Waterstones' before becoming a full-time writer.
