I first became familiar with Mayo Clinic Cardiology when reviewing for my first recertification exam in Cardiology. One of my cardiology fellows leant me a copy of the First Edition. It was extremely easy to read, and I felt prepared for the recertification exam. I again used this textbook, Third Edition, for my second recertification exam... The Fourth Edition, much like the Third Edition, reaches an excellent balance of being comprehensive while remaining extremely readable... It is an excellent resource for anyone preparing for certification or recertification in cardiology. I would recommend a cardiology fellow devote six months to reading the textbook cover to cover. They will find it well worth the time invested. The practicing cardiologist will be able to cover the text book in a month. They will find it both an excellent review and an efficient way to learn new information.
