Disbound. [Papers Relative to Building a Church in the Parish of Devenish. Returns to orders of the Honourable The House of Commons, dated 10th February 1824; - for, - Copies of all Memorials presented, and the particulars of any Representations which may have been made, by any of the Parishioners of the Parish of Devenish, in the County of Fermanagh, to their several Diocesans, during ten years last past, respecting the re-building of a second Church, or Chapel of Ease, near the Village of Garrioch in said Parish; and of the Answers given thereto; with a Statement of any Offers off Land which may have been made, and of any Measures which have been consequently adopted for effecting the same, and for securing to the Protestant Inhabitants of that Division of the Parish the regular performance of Divine Services, as far as might be practicable, until such second Church should be erected; - Of the estimated Extent of said Parish of Devenish, in length and breadth, with the number of Acres comprised therein, and of the Distance of the Distance of the Village of Garrioch from the Parish Church at Monea; - Of the Quantity of Glebe Land in the said Parish; and, if no Glebe House has been erected since the deficiency thereof was reported by the Episcopal Returns of 1820, of the reasons which prevent such Glebe House form being erected; - of the Names and Places of Residence of the Incumbent, and of the Curate or Curates of said Parish; particularly stating whether such Residence is within said Parish, and in the County of Fermanagh, and how long they have resided severally: -Viz. – Copy of a Letter from the Right Rev. the Lord Bishop of Clogher to the Right Honourable Henry Goulburn; inclosing, (1.) Report of the Commissioners of Her Majesty’s Woods, Forests, Land Revenues, works and Buildings, enclosing the Report of the Surveying Officers appointed under the above Act.] Together with the Abstract and Index to Minutes of Proceedings taken before the Surveying Officers. The Surveying Officers carried out a Local Examination of the District which the proposed Act would affect. The examination covered Seven Divisions: Division I – Supply of Water. Division II – Drainage, Sewerage and Cleansing. Division III – Lights (Gas). Division IV – Pavements. Division V – Markets (Part 1: Grain Market, Part 2: Flax Market). Division VI – Cemeteries. Division VII – Finance Rates. The object of the Bill was to improve the sanitary condition of the City of Londonderry, and to place the regulation of the improvements to be made therein in the hands of the Corporation, to consolidate the existing Acts, and to obtain all modern powers for effecting the improvements contemplated.
