Read moreof topics, including poems inspired by Spanish paintings (Derek Sellen) and black holes (Daphne Gloag). The sequences touched my emotions in various ways. Pete Marshall and Bruce Ackerley brought back pleasant memories of travels in Wales with my husband and his family; Wendy Klein’s sequence ‘New Orleans’, on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, had me bawling – I grew up in hurricane country and have vivid memories of their destruction and their effects on the lives of everyone in their path. All in all, I found the collection very entertaining and informative. It is a lovely introduction to an interesting form of poetry.
