Solas na bhFlaitheas dá h-Anam uasal lúcháireach. It was with sadness we learned this week of the death of Terry Wogan, a friend of Kennys, pictured here in happier times with the late Maureen Kenny. This image was taken at a Bord Fáilte event where both Terry and Maureen had been named as unofficial ambassadors for Ireland. The promotion of Ireland was a thing they both did so well! May they both Rest in Peace.

The recently announced Man Booker Prize Longlist of 13 sees nominees from Ireland, Nigeria, New Zealand and India as well as the UK. The competition was opened up to all writers in the English language during 2014 - effectively lifting the bar on US writers - and this year this pays dividends in the inclusion of no fewer than 5 US nominees.Previously only writers from the UK, the British Commonwealth and Ireland were eligible. The shortlist will be announced on 15 September, with a winner named on 13 October. Search for all of the longlist nominees on Kennys.ie by clicking on the below links now... (Please note that occasionally titles may return no result as books go out of stock - but these will reappear as we replenish)
