Galway Bay FM Book Club - Kennys picks for August!

For August, we recommended two thrillers, and the Listener's Choice of book was The Wife Between Us!

The book was reviewed on Tuesday 25th August on Galway Bay FM on the Alan Murphy show, along with Sarah from Kennys and others. You can listen to the discussion here!

Kennys Bookshop are delighted to be partnering up Galway Bay FM for their first ever Book Club! We are recommending a couple of books a month for members to read, and one of these - the Listeners Choice - will be reviewed each month on the Alan Murphy Show on Galway Bay FM.

 Listeners Choice for August:

The Wife Between us

The Wife Between Us by Greer Handricks & Sarah Pekkanen

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Read between the lies!

Our other recommended read this month:

Where the Crawdads Sing

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

For years, rumours of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved.

When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life - until the unthinkable happens. Perfect for fans of Barbara Kingsolver and Celeste Ng, Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
