Books for Hospice

Galway Hospice in partnership with Kennys.ie will run its “Books for Hospice” event again on Friday and Saturday, May 13th and 14th. The initiative has raised over 28,000 euro since its inception in 2014, with a long term target of 100,000 euro.
“We are delighted to once again work with Kennys on this fundraising initiative. For the past two years, the people of Galway City and County have donated used books to this event which made “Books for Hospice” a big success. On behalf of Galway Hospice, I would like to thank everyone who donated books in support of this project”, said Galway Hospice Fundraising Manager, Michael Craig.
The Hospice is asking the public to bring their unwanted books to Kenny’s Book Bindery in Liosbán Industrial Estate between 9am and 5pm on Friday the 13th of May or on Saturday the 14th. Kennys will sort the books, sell them and donate the funds raised to Galway Hospice. Any books deemed unsuitable will be recycled, so nothing goes to landfill.
All of the funds raised will go directly towards funding the Galway Hospice Home Care and Day Care Services which cost in the region of 1.6 million euro per annum to provide.

Cosnaíonn an córas Cúram Baile agus Cúram Laethiúil a eagraíonn Oispís na Gaillimhe 1.6 milliúin euro gach blain agus cuirfear pé airgid a bhailítear ag “Hospice Day” isteach sa gciste sin.
