Padraig Rooney was born in 1956 in Monaghan. He has published many short stories, and one novel, Oasis (Poolbeg Press, 1982). He won the Patrick Kavanagh Award for Poetry in 1986, and his collection, In The Bonsai Garden, was published by Raven Arts Press in 1988. He spent many years in the Far East, and now lives in Budapest.
