Ruth Padel has published three collections of poetry. The second, Angel (Bloodaxe) was a UK Poetry Book Society Recommendation. Her most recent collection is Fusewire, from Chatto (London). She is the author of two books on ancient Greek religion and modern psychology, In and Out of the Mind, and Whom Gods Destroy. She is currently (1997) writing a book for Faber on voice, song and desire. She was a judge for the 1996 TS Eliot Prize, is currently a UK Book Society Selector, and is winner of the 1996 UK National Poetry Competition. She lives in London.
