Irish Writers - Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy was born in Liverpool in 1965. His poetry collections are After Attila (Nottingham, Shoestring Press, 1998) and Elsewhere (Shoestring Press, 2003). In 2001 he won the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize, awarded by Poetry Review to the New Poet of the Year. Also a critic, he has edited The Collected George Garrett (The Nottingham Trent University, Trent Editions, 1999); and is the author of Poetry in Exile (Essex, Greenwich Exchange, 2004); and James Joyce (Greenwich Exchange, 2004). His poems are included in The New Irish Poets, edited by Selina Guinness (Bloodaxe, 2004). He lives in Liverpool.
