Clare Local Studies Project (CLASP) is an independent organization set up by four staff members of Clare County Library. Their objective is to develop awareness of and increase access to sources for local studies in county Clare.
CLASP Press has produced a number of publications dealing with various aspects of life in County Clare in the past, from pre-famine poverty to life on Scattery Island in the 1940s and 1950s. They have also developed a range of online publications in association with Clare County Library, the purpose of which are to illustrate Clare history and genealogy, and include the 1901 Census of County Clare.
