Irish Publishers - Abbey Press

Abbey Press was founded in 1997 by teacher Mel McMahon and poet Adrian Rice. It publishes biography, memoirs, fiction, history, politics and academic titles. From its conception, Abbey Press has formed a unique relationship with the Abbey Grammar School in Newry. The school is the chief sponsor of the Press and each Press title is first launched on school premises.
Abbey Press is a fast-growing literary publisher with a strong poetry list. It has published works from major Irish poets such as Michael Longley and Brendan Kennelly.
