Celtic Studies
There are so many aspects to Celtic culture that books abound in the subject. The two main areas of interest are Celtic religion and Celtic art. In the first there are many publications on druids and rituals. There has also been quite a lot published on Celtic magic and Celtic sites where ancient rites were practised. Of course, bound up with this is Celtic mythology, Celtic mysteries and fairy tales. Other areas of interest include Celtic traditions and the transformation of Celtic paganism to Celtic christianity. People often look for books on Celtic symbols and this brings into the second main area, where books on Celtic ornament are in demand. Here also there are works which deal with Celtic sculpture, Celtic imagery, Celtic knots, and Celtic calligraphy. In modern times, these books tend more to spirituality such as John O'Donohue's "Anam Cara" and can sometimes be difficult to recognise. We pride ourselves on being able to direct the customer to the books she or he may not be aware of in their field.
